Job summary

Creative Financial Staffing, LLC seeks a Senior Controller to lead all accounting and financial reporting for a growing organization in Providence, RI. You will be a hands-on leader on the finance team, driving improvements, controls, and strategic insights for executive leadership.

The role involves month-end close, budgeting, cash flow planning, audits, and ensuring GAAP compliance while mentoring a high-performing accounting staff in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required.
• CPA and/or Master’s degree preferred.
• 8+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience.
• Prior Controller, Assistant Controller, or senior accounting leadership experience.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls.
• Experience managing audits, budgeting, and forecasting processes.
• Advanced Excel and ERP system experience.
• Exceptional leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to operate both strategically and hands-on when needed.

Responsibilities

• Lead all accounting operations, including general ledger, month-end close, financial reporting, AP, AR, payroll, and fixed assets
• Prepare accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
• Manage budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow planning activities
• Establish, enhance, and maintain internal controls and accounting policies
• Partner with executive leadership to support strategic decision-making and business planning
• Coordinate external audits, tax filings, and regulatory compliance requirements
• Analyze financial results and provide recommendations to improve profitability and operational efficiency
• Lead, mentor, and develop accounting and finance team members
• Drive process improvements and system optimization initiatives
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and company financial policies

Position Overview
