Job summary

Rolls-Royce plc in Indianapolis, IN, seeks a Sr. Control System Software Engineer (Control Laws) to lead control-law development for the ACaMS system.

You will guide a multidisciplinary team and coordinate with customers and internal groups to deliver high-quality software for aero engines. The role emphasizes technical leadership, compliance with DO-178C/ARP-4754, and cross-functional collaboration in a hybrid work environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical or Computer Engineering with 2+ years of product development experience; or Master/PhD in the same fields.
• Experience with requirements management.
• Strong background in embedded safety-critical software and model-based design.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical guidance to the control law development team and ensure certification objectives are met at each gate.
• Develop and communicate requirements from the customer and engine team, in collaboration with Controls System and Software teams.
• Lead problem solving and risk assessment activities to uphold technical capability and quality.
• Represent the Control Law team with the customer for requirements, deliverables, and integration activities.
• Foster a high-performance culture and support EVMS planning with the IPTL.
