Job summary

Cordia is seeking a Control Operator III for the Downtown Phoenix district cooling system. You will oversee day-to-day plant operations, perform routine maintenance, and ensure safety, reliability and efficiency priorities are met.

The role requires monitoring of large chilled water equipment, handling routine analysis, and operating with minimal supervision while maintaining plant safety and performance.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Must have a minimum of five (5) years of steady work experience, working with large tonnage chilled water equipment and water pumps.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Hands on maintenance and troubleshooting experience with chiller plants.
• Must have a valid driver's license.
• Knowledge and experience in working with large chilled water equipment and water pumps.
• Ability to work in adverse climate conditions.
• Gathers data; identifies issues; relates and compares; identifies cause-effect; interprets different viewpoints; determines and takes a course of action after identifying and developing possible consequences.
• Seeks, acquires, and promptly applies new knowledge and skills, including interpersonal skills, new technology, and emerging industry practices. Adjusts quickly to change.

Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor all plant equipment; perform alignments as needed.
• Identify abnormal operating and equipment conditions; perform routine and corrective maintenance.
• Follow plant procedures to meet reliability goals and production requirements.
• Track and log system status; perform regular equipment rounds and read gauges.
• Suggest enhancements to improve plant reliability and performance.
• Identify, report and address safety hazards.
• Maintain competency across local and remote plant facilities; manage equipment and facilities to prevent outages.
• Use CMMS to perform maintenance efficiently.
