Job summary

Mitsubishi Chemical Group in Chesapeake, VA seeks a Sr. Engineer, Controls and Automation to provide senior engineering leadership for electrical power, controls, automation, OT, SCADA, and equipment reliability in a continuous manufacturing environment.

You will partner with Engineering, Maintenance, Production, HSE, Quality, IT, vendors, and contractors to troubleshoot chronic failures, design upgrades, and secure plant systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or closely related field.
• Five+ years of experience in electrical, controls, automation, OT, SCADA, or plant engineering in manufacturing.
• Experience troubleshooting industrial electrical and controls systems and supporting equipment installation, modification, and commissioning.

Responsibilities

• Design, specify, modify, and support electrical and control systems including power distribution, motor controls, PLCs, HMIs, networks, and machine-safety interfaces.
• Develop control narratives, I/O lists, schematics, and installation work packages.
• Program, configure, troubleshoot, and improve Allen-Bradley, Mitsubishi, and Siemens PLC/HMI platforms and drives.
• Lead or support OT network infrastructure and SCADA engineering, governance, and cybersecurity coordination.
• Lead reliability and maintenance support, root-cause analysis, and continuous improvement.
