Job summary

Nippon Sanso Matheson seeks a highly skilled Controls Engineer to support automation and control system maintenance at our Irving, TX air separation plants. You will diagnose issues, optimize uptime, and implement compliant logic changes within a continuous-process manufacturing environment.

The role requires strong PLC/SCADA troubleshooting, adherence to MOC protocols, and collaboration with operations, safety, and quality teams to ensure safety and production continuity.

Qualifications

• 5 years with degree, 10 years without. Experience in control systems programming, industrial automation, or operational technology within a continuous-process manufacturing environment is required
• 1+ year hands-on experience working with air separation units (ASUs) or similar highly continuous cryogenic/chemical processes including compressors and distillation columns is preferred
• 1+ years working within strictly regulated manufacturing environments utilizing formal Management of Change (MOC) or validated control protocols (FDA/medical-grade) is preferred

Responsibilities

• Provide 24/7/365 technical assistance for control system needs to minimize downtime.
• Execute day-to-day plant PLC/SCADA programming updates and logic modifications per coding standards and docs.
• Interpret and modify PLC wiring diagrams, P&IDs, control narratives, and logic diagrams for safe automation.
• Follow MOC protocols and complete risk assessments before deployment.
• Maintain validated state with test plans; ensure logic changes meet medical manufacturing regulations.
• Lead local RCAs for control system failures and implement CAPAs.
• Monitor OT assets for high availability, data historization, and basic cybersecurity.
• Collaborate with plant operations, safety, quality, and corporate engineering teams to resolve issues and sustain production
