Job summary

ASR Group in Baltimore, MD seeks a Senior Controls Engineer to serve as the refinery's technical authority for controls, instrumentation, and process automation. You will lead system implementations, upgrades, and standardization across automation assets while mentoring engineers and technicians.

You will develop a multi-year roadmap for controls, manage PLCs and HMIs, and drive predictive maintenance and cybersecurity alignment to support safe, reliable production.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, Automation Engineering, or a related engineering discipline is required.
• 10+ years of controls, automation, instrumentation, or process-control experience in refining, manufacturing, or related industrial environment.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the site technical authority for controls, instrumentation, and process automation.
• Lead system implementations, upgrades, and modifications in accordance with ISA, cybersecurity, and safety standards.
• Direct and mentor engineers, technicians, and cross-functional teams while promoting standardization.
• Develop and govern a multi-year controls and automation roadmap.
• Manage PLC/HMI/industrial software lifecycles and spare-parts strategies.
