Job summary

Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) Construction & Development seeks a Senior Contracts Specialist to provide advanced contract and procurement support for the capital program. The role supports award of billions in consultant and construction contracts and manages claims and changes on contracts valued at several billions.

The position reports to Manager, Contracting Services and requires collaboration with diverse teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field and four years of contracts/procurement experience.
• Ability to interpret contract terms, procurement laws, and manage complex procurement processes.

Responsibilities

• Supports management within the Contracts Department.
• Contributes to reports for MTA executives and staff.
• Supports the Contracting Services division with research and documents to promote efficient operation.
• Creates contract files documenting procurement and decision-making processes.
• Works with staff to compile documents and review Board packages, presentations, and contract reporting.
• Assists in drafting memo s and assisting in vendor responsibility hearings.
• Provide status updates to senior management as required.
• Facilitate procurement and award documentation with contracts and contract modifications.
• Compile documents and perform vendor review research with the Department of Diversity and Inclusion.
• Assist in ensuring DBE, MWBE and SDVOB vendor utilization.
