Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Contracts Lawyer for our client, a growing industrial conglomerate based in Welkom, Free State. The role focuses on managing and negotiating a wide array of commercial contracts, ensuring alignment with corporate objectives and risk tolerance.

You will serve as the primary legal advisor on contractual matters, supporting procurement, sales, and operations while maintaining contract governance and compliance in a hybrid work setup.

Qualifications

• Admitted Attorney of the High Court of South Africa.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience focusing on contract law and commercial agreements.
• Strong drafting and negotiation skills with a keen eye for detail.
• Excellent understanding of general commercial law principles.
• Ability to provide clear, concise, and practical legal advice.

Responsibilities

• Draft, review, and amend a broad range of commercial contracts, including service agreements and partnership deeds.
• Negotiate contract terms with third-party vendors, clients, and partners.
• Provide legal advice on contract interpretation and compliance issues.
• Identify and mitigate contractual risks for the company.
• Ensure contracts comply with relevant laws and regulations.
• Maintain a central repository of all company contracts and track key dates.
• Collaborate with internal departments to understand their contractual needs.
• Assist in resolving contractual disputes and claims.
