Job summary

Placements24 seeks a proactive Senior Contracts Manager to bolster its legal team in Welkom, Free State. You will draft, review, and negotiate a range of commercial agreements, advise on contractual risk, and manage the contract lifecycle from initiation to archiving in a hybrid in-office/remote setup.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in contract law, is admitted as SA attorney or advocate, and demonstrates strong analytical, negotiation, and communication skills with proficiency in contract

Qualifications

• LLB degree or equivalent qualification.
• Admitted Attorney/Advocate of the SA High Court.
• 5+ years of contract law experience, preferably in a corporate setting.
• Experience drafting/negotiating commercial contracts.
• Strong understanding of contract law and risk management.

Responsibilities

• Draft, review, and negotiate corporate contracts (service, supply, NDAs, licensing).
• Advise internal stakeholders on contractual risks and obligations.
• Manage contract lifecycle from initiation to termination and archiving.
• Develop and maintain standard contract templates and clauses.
• Implement and manage a contract management system for tracking.
• Ensure compliance with policies, laws, and best practices.
• Liaise with external counsel as needed for specialized advice.
• Identify process improvements in contract management.
• Assist in dispute resolution related to contracts.
