Job description

Rippling gives businesses one place to run HR, IT, and Finance. It brings together all of the workforce systems that are normally scattered across a company, like payroll, expenses, benefits, and computers. For the first time ever, you can manage and automate every part of the employee lifecycle in a single system.

Take onboarding, for example. With Rippling, you can hire a new employee anywhere in the world and set up their payroll, corporate card, computer, benefits, and even third-party apps like Slack and Microsoft 365—all within 90 seconds.

Based in San Francisco, CA, Rippling has raised $1.4B+ from the world’s top investors—including Kleiner Perkins, Founders Fund, Sequoia, Greenoaks, and Bedrock—and was named one of America's best startup employers by Forbes.

We prioritize candidate safety. Please be aware that all official communication will only be sent from @ Rippling.com addresses.

About the role

As our Senior Content Marketing Manager, HR, you’ll deeply research our highest priority audience and own the content marketing strategy to engage, convert, and retain them. Your creed: delivering HR leaders the content they crave, and revealing how Rippling can help them change the game.

Through hands-on research, you’ll become the go-to expert on what makes HR leaders (director level and above) tick. What are their goals and challenges? What keeps them up at night? You’ll find the answers, and dream up content ideas that truly matter to them—always accompanied by a distribution plan that helps us reach as many HR leaders as possible.

You’re a proactive marketer who knows the usual content marketing strategies. But you’re also willing to push the envelope with outside-the-box storytelling and innovative distribution tactics. You’re also a bold storyteller, ready to experiment with fresh formats, especially video and podcasts. But you’ll also be a self-starter with the mindset of an investigative journalist—eager to uncover your own insights.

This role will work hybrid out of our San Francisco or New York office.

About the team

Based out of our San Francisco and New York offices, Rippling’s small but mighty Content Marketing team does much more than tell Rippling’s story.

We hunt out stories that resonate with our customers and community, and deliver them in inimitable style. We entertain and educate by building content across a myriad of formats—from social media and blog posts, to webinars and videos. We equip our audience—from fans and prospects to loyal customers—with the tools and resources they need to run a global workforce in the here and now. Working with the Brand Marketing and Brand Studio teams, we create delight with our unique campaigns—always delivered with a wink.

Our team is responsible for millions of eyeballs on the Rippling website, and for drawing countless new fans and customers into our orbit…and we’re only just getting started.

What you will do
  • Deeply understand our target audience: HR leaders (director level and above). You’ll immerse yourself in this community, both online and IRL, and report back with persona insights and content recommendations.
  • Devise content marketing tactics to reach HR leaders across a variety of mediums: blogs, podcasts, newsletters, explainer videos, social, you name it.
  • Drive content marketing campaigns from idea to execution. You’ll create lots of content yourself, from blog posts to webinar decks—but you’ll also partner with Rippling’s writers, designers, and other creatives to bring your ideas to life.
  • Develop compelling video content tailored to HR leaders—from thought leadership explainers and webinars to customer testimonials and social-first formats. You’ll support video production end-to-end and optimize content for multiple channels to refine our strategy.
  • Evolve your content strategy based on performance, persona insights, new Rippling products, and changes within the HR industry.
What you will need
  • At least 4 years of experience in Product Marketing, Content Marketing, or Comms—ideally in-house in SaaS and/or the HR space.
  • Track record of driving inventive content campaigns in a variety of content types.
  • Homing pigeon instincts for distributing content. You deploy content for maximum impact by finding our audience’s chosen hangouts and preferred content types.
  • Insatiable curiosity and research skills. You’re going deep to understand the desires and pain points of HR leaders.
  • Strong writing skills. You can craft a crystal-clear proposal, as well as draft an engaging blog post or video script.
  • Natural storyteller. A knack for translating complex ideas into clear, compelling narratives that resonate across formats and channels.
  • Bring big ideas to life. You are comfortable collaborating with creative teams to inspire new content and campaigns
  • Brilliant brainstorming abilities. Not only do you understand content marketing best practices, you can also dream up witty, out-of-the-box, and even provocative ideas.
  • Ability to prioritize. You dive into data and talk to cross-functional stakeholders to prioritize your ideas by impact.
  • Confidence using a basic Content Marketing toolkit, from CMS to analytics to email marketing to video production.
  • Impeccable project management. You land the plane. You’re a natural collaborator, clear communicator, and super organized.
  • Experience marketing to HR buyers is a big plus—but an insatiable curiosity to learn about this audience is much more crucial.
