Job summary

Busey Bank seeks a Consumer Business Risk & Compliance Manager to lead risk and control frameworks for Consumer Payments and Deposits, serving as the SME for consumer risks in traditional and digital banking.

You will guide control improvements, develop testing standards, and report risk findings while coordinating between risk functions and business lines. Strong regulatory knowledge and 8–10 years in financial services are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent; business or finance preferred.
• 8–10 years’ experience in financial services with audit, risk, or compliance background.
• Large-bank experience (> $10B) strongly preferred.
• CRCM certification a plus.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office; Smartsheet and Power BI preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assess existing controls frameworks across consumer payments and deposits; recommend improvements.
• Guide on control enhancements to ensure robust design and operational efficiency.
• Develop or enhance testing standards and monitoring programs with business lines.
• Create and maintain reporting of testing results and risk projects for management.
• Support change management related to new regulations, products, or services; implement new controls as needed.
• Act as liaison between second line of defense and business to translate regulatory impact.
• Support remediation tracking and post-remediation monitoring.
• Assist enterprise risk management activities within business lines (risk assessments, root cause analysis, resiliency).
• Participate in interpreting new legal and regulatory requirements and oversee implementation.
