Job summary

Busey Bank seeks a Consumer Business Risk & Compliance Manager to create and execute risk and control frameworks for Consumer Payments and Deposits. You will serve as the SME for consumer risks across Retail and digital banking, guiding processes to minimize financial risk, regulatory criticism, and reputational harm.

Responsibilities include assessing controls, improving testing standards, reporting results, supporting regulatory changes, and coordinating with the second line of defense.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or related field; 8–10 years in financial services with audit, risk management or compliance experience.
• Strong knowledge of consumer regulations and trends affecting retail and digital banking.
• Experience designing and documenting procedures and controls; able to translate regulatory requirements into business processes.

Responsibilities

• Assess existing controls frameworks across consumer payments and deposits and suggest improvements.
• Provide guidance to ensure control design objectives mitigate risk while staying operationally efficient.
• Develop and enhance control testing standards and monitoring programs with staff.
• Create and maintain reporting of testing results and risk projects for leadership visibility.
• Support regulatory changes and new products by implementing or modifying controls.
• Serve as liaison between second line and business to translate regulatory impact into operations.
• Support remediation efforts and post-remediation monitoring for risk issues.
