Job summary

AXA XL is seeking a Senior Underwriter for Group Captives in Construction. This role focuses on tailoring high-touch risk solutions for contractors and owner groups, with travel up to 25% and close collaboration with brokers and industry experts.

You will assess submissions, price risk, and support clients through underwriting lifecycle, reporting to the Underwriting Manager of Group Captives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required with advanced education or professional designations preferred.
• Strong underwriting expertise in construction accounts and risk assessment.
• Proven ability to work with brokers and clients to tailor coverage solutions.

Responsibilities

• Review submissions, apps, policy wording, loss runs, and reports to assess risk.
• Collaborate with agents and brokers to target top-tier contractor accounts.
• Calculate risk premiums using guaranteed cost and loss-sensitive options.
• Advise and service clients on insurance and risk management matters.
• Maintain strong relationships with customers and brokers.
• Ensure timely implementation of new and renewed accounts per quality standards.
• Coordinate with claims and risk engineering for value-added service.
• Negotiate facultative reinsurance when needed.
• Work with team on cross-marketing goals and objectives.
