Job summary

CopperPoint Insurance Companies is expanding its Alpharetta presence and seeks an Executive UW - Construction to lead underwriting for middle market and large Construction accounts. You will apply advanced underwriting expertise to manage risk, foster agency partnerships, and drive profitable growth while guiding less experienced underwriters.

The role emphasizes training, compliance, and delivering exceptional service to partners and internal stakeholders in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• Underwriting expertise in construction and commercial lines.
• 10+ years of commercial insurance experience.
• Advanced knowledge of insurance principles, rates, forms and regulations.
• Strong business development and relationship-building skills.
• Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
• Highly organized with the ability to handle competing priorities.
• Data-driven decision making and analytical thinking.

Responsibilities

• Analyze Construction accounts by evaluating risk characteristics, exposures, hazards, and controls to make sound underwriting decisions.
• Maintain deep expertise in the Construction industry and stay current on market trends and emerging risks.
• Balance risk selection and pricing strategies to drive profitable growth while maintaining strong producer relationships.
• Serve as a trusted advisor to agency partners, providing guidance on products, services, and underwriting philosophy.
• Build and maintain strong agency relationships to attract and retain targeted business.
• Develop and manage a pipeline of opportunities to achieve production and business mix objectives.
• Meet established underwriting performance goals, including production, quote, and hit ratio metrics.
• Deliver exceptional customer service to internal and external stakeholders.
• Maintain underwriting files in compliance with company guidelines and regulatory requirements.
• Coach, mentor, and support the development of less experienced underwriters.
• Foster strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders through effective communication and collaboration.
