Senior Underwriter – Primary Construction Lines – Global P&C Insurance Carrier (Atlanta, GA)

About the Opportunity: James Search Group is partnering with a leading global property & casualty (P&C) insurance carrier to recruit a Senior Underwriter specializing in Primary Construction Lines. This on‑site position is based in Atlanta, with offices in either Buckhead or Alpharetta, and offers the chance to underwrite complex construction accounts, collaborate with top‑tier brokers, and drive a profitable, growing portfolio.

Compensation: Base salary range: $120,000 – $160,000 per year (commensurate with experience), plus annual bonus potential and a full suite of benefits, including medical, dental, vision, paid time off, and a 401(k) with match.

Key Responsibilities:

• Underwrite and price new and renewal Primary Construction business, including general liability and related coverages.
• Evaluate risk quality through detailed exposure analysis and adherence to underwriting guidelines.
• Manage and expand a profitable book of construction business while maintaining underwriting discipline.
• Develop and strengthen relationships with brokers and agents to drive submission flow and market presence.
• Collaborate with claims, actuarial, and risk engineering teams to craft customized insurance solutions.
• Represent the company at industry and client events, promoting its construction expertise and capabilities.

Qualifications:

• 5+ years of underwriting experience in primary construction lines or commercial casualty, with strong technical knowledge of construction-related risks.
• Proven track record of building and maintaining broker relationships and driving profitable growth.
• Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
• Bachelor’s degree in Risk Management, Insurance, Business, or a related field preferred.
