  • Serve as a trusted advisor to agency partners, providing guidance on products, services, and underwriting philosophy.
  • Build and maintain strong agency relationships to attract and retain targeted business.
  • Develop and manage a pipeline of opportunities to achieve production and business mix objectives.
  • Meet established underwriting performance goals, including production, quote, and hit ratio metrics.

We have an exciting opportunity for an Executive UW - Construction. This role is responsible for underwriting and managing a portfolio of middle market and large Construction focused accounts while ensuring profitable growth through disciplined risk selection. The position serves as a key customer-facing representative, utilizing advanced underwriting expertise and broad authority to provide exceptional service, foster strong agency relationships, and contribute to the achievement of business and strategic objectives. Provides training, coaching and development to less experienced underwriters.

Job responsibilities:

Qualifications/Competencies:
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required.
  • The knowledge and skill levels acquired through undergraduate level studies especially in the areas of business administration, finance.
  • 10+ years of commercial insurance experience required in addition to Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
  • Advanced knowledge of insurance principles, rates, rules, forms, procedures, regulations, coverages, and business processes required.
  • Deep expertise in commercial lines construction underwriting, with the ability to confidently assess complex risks and uncover opportunities for profitable growth.
  • Proven business development acumen, combining strong sales and marketing capabilities with a track record of winning and expanding key relationships.
  • Collaborative team player who builds trust, influences outcomes, and contributes to a high-performing culture.
  • Exceptional communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to cultivate strong partnerships and drive successful business outcomes.

  • We provide some benefits at no cost to the employee (Basic Life Insurance and AD&D at two times an employee’s annual salary, Short- and Long-term Disability coverage, and Employee Assistant Plan).
  • Employees will accrue 0.0846 hours of Paid Time Off (PTO) per paid hour, which may total 22 days a year. In addition, employees will also receive 10 paid holidays throughout the calendar year.
