Job summary

AXA XL is seeking a Senior Underwriter for Group Captives – Construction. This role applies advanced construction/commercial underwriting expertise to tailor primary casualty solutions for General Contractors, Construction Managers, and trades within the Group Captive program.

You will partner with brokers and internal teams, evaluate risk using submissions, loss runs, and reports, and manage accounts from first quote to renewal while traveling about 25% as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Advanced construction/commercial underwriting experience required.
• Strong ability to communicate with brokers and clients.

Responsibilities

• Review submissions, policy wording, loss runs and reports to assess risk.
• Target accounts with brokers and agents to identify best-in-class contractors.
• Calculate risk premiums using guaranteed cost and loss-sensitive options.
• Advise and service clients on insurance and risk management matters.
• Maintain strong relationships with customers and brokers.
• Ensure timely implementation of new and renewed accounts per quality standards.
• Collaborate with claims and risk engineering for value-added services.
• Negotiate facultative reinsurance as needed.
• Work with team on cross-marketing goals and objectives.
