Job summary

AXA XL, a leading insurer, seeks a Senior Underwriter for Group Captives in Construction. The role focuses on high-touch risk assessment, pricing, and client service for General Contractors, Construction Managers, and project owners within dedicated Group Captive programs.

You will work with industry experts, travel as needed (approx. 25%), and report to the Underwriting Manager. Strong documentation and collaboration with brokers are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Advanced construction/commercial underwriting experience.
• Ability to tailor solutions for construction managers and contractors.
• Strong written and oral communication with brokers and clients.

Responsibilities

• Review submissions, policy wording, inspection reports, and financials to assess risk.
• Target accounts with agents and brokers that are best in class.
• Calculate risk premiums using guaranteed cost and loss-sensitive options.
• Advise and service clients on insurance and risk management.
• Maintain effective relationships with customers and brokers.
• Ensure timely implementation of new/renewed accounts per standards.
• Collaborate with claims and risk engineering to add value.
• Negotiate facultative reinsurance when needed.
• Work with team on cross-marketing goals
