AXA XL in the US is seeking a Senior Underwriting Officer - Construction to lead risk selection and profitability for the Middle Market segment. You will apply deep construction expertise to strengthen offerings for mid-sized clients and collaborate with product teams, brokers and cross-functional partners.
Reporting to the Head of Industry Solutions, you will drive underwriting strategy, influence portfolio performance, and represent AXA XL at industry events, advancing our market leadership in
Qualifications
- Deep technical experience in coverages, exposures and rating for Construction risks.
- Advanced knowledge of underwriting principles from extensive experience.
- Intimate knowledge of the Construction market for mid-sized clients.
- Strong critical thinking, communication, and negotiation abilities.
- Leadership experience and willingness to develop others.
Responsibilities
- Provide expert-level technical support to underwriters and drive profitable growth.
- Monitor portfolio performance with Underwriting, Claims and Actuarial teams.
- Collaborate with Product, Underwriting and brokers to enhance capabilities.
- Drive underwriting strategy using market insights, risk characteristics, and loss trends.
- Build cross-functional relationships with Claims, Compliance, Legal and other units.
- Represent AXA XL as Construction SME at industry conferences.
