Job summary

BB&E is seeking a Construction Surveillance Engineer to support NAVFAC Southeast in Charleston, SC. The role involves inspect/QA for repair, demolition, and new construction, and coordinating permits and outages with contractors.

You will review submittals, monitor schedules, and prepare reports and cost estimates while ensuring safety and environmental compliance. The candidate should have 7+ years in related roles, a relevant ABET/ACCE/NAAB degree (or equivalent), OSHA 30-hour, and a valid US

Qualifications

• Minimum 7 years as Construction Manager, Field Engineer, Project Engineer, or QC Manager on large facilities.
• ABET/ACCE/NAAB degrees or equivalent experience as specified.
• OSHA 30-hour Construction Training completed within 2 years or within 60 days.
• US Citizen and valid driver’s license.
• CQM for Contractors Certification or able to obtain within 60 days.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, QA, monitor ESS compliance and contract administration for repair, demolition, and new construction.
• Coordinate outage requests, permits, haul routes, and related items with contractor.
• Attend meetings, take notes, prepare CRRs and CCCNs.
• Review submittals and contractor's safety and quality control plans.
• Analyze construction schedules and progress diagrams; monitor compliance.
• Prepare cost estimates for modifications and as-built documents.
