Job summary

Turner Construction Company in Philadelphia is seeking an experienced Superintendent to lead, coordinate, and supervise subcontractors and field staff on the Philadelphia Main project, ensuring safety, schedule delivery, quality, and budget adherence.

This role requires a Bachelor's degree with at least four years of related construction experience, strong knowledge of means and methods, scheduling and cost control, and the ability to read and interpret contract documents and drawings.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree plus a minimum of four years' related experience or training.
• Knowledge of building construction, means and methods, scheduling and cost control procedures, general contract, general conditions, subcontract documents, drawings and specifications, including Microsoft Office Suite and EH&S applications.
• Ability to read, understand and interpret contract documents, drawings specifications, scopes of work and project schedule.
• Demonstrated leadership and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and make decisions related to scheduling, delivery, logistics, quality control and trade staffing levels.
• Coordinate work among trades to promote a unified project operation and resolve procedural issues.
• Manage the site safety program and ensure subcontractor compliance with Turner standards and safety codes.
• Supervise and develop Assistant Superintendents, Field Engineers, and Interns, including performance feedback.
• Create schedules, determine sequencing of work, and implement recovery strategies to maintain schedule.
• Communicate with owners and architects/engineers on field issues and resolutions.
• Manage billing related to Work In Place and oversee monthly estimates, payrolls, material invoices, and subcontractor payments.
• Ensure work conforms to approved contract documents.
