Job summary

Gilbane Building seeks a Senior General Superintendent to lead the field on a major project in Syracuse, NY. You will manage a large on-site team, drive safety, schedule, budget, and quality, and partner with owners and engineers to achieve project goals.

You will coach and develop the project team, oversee trades, and ensure adherence to Gilbane standards while engaging with local market opportunities and preserving a positive work environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Construction Management.
• 15+ years on a $100 million+ site/civil construction project or multiple projects as a superintendent.
• OSHA 30-hour, STS-C, First Aid/CPR/AED/Stop the Bleed training.
• Strong knowledge of safety, scheduling, budget, quality and risk management.

Responsibilities

• Direct and coordinate the field team and subcontractors to meet schedule and quality.
• Lead safety programs, ensure compliance, and drive safety culture on site.
• Manage project budget, change controls, and site logistics.
• Lead contractor meetings and communications with owners, architects/engineers, and lenders.
• Mentor junior staff and participate in business development opportunities.
