Job summary

Samet is seeking a Senior Superintendent to lead field operations in the Wilmington region, directing construction activities, coordinating trades, and ensuring safety, schedule, and budget adherence on projects.

You will bridge project management with field execution, mentor direct reports, and own projects from startup through closeout while upholding Samet's safety culture and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in construction management, construction engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum 7–10 years of construction experience with 3–5 years in a supervisory role.
• Experience with commercial, institutional, or industrial construction projects.
• Proficiency in construction management software including Procore, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Direct and supervise all construction activities on assigned projects.
• Coordinate work schedules and sequences among multiple trades and subcontractors.
• Monitor project progress and maintain construction schedules.
• Conduct regular site inspections to ensure work quality and compliance.
• Review and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contracts.
• Implement and enforce all safety protocols and OSHA regulations.
• Conduct daily safety meetings and toolbox talks.
• Investigate incidents and maintain safety documentation.
• Ensure compliance with local building codes and permit requirements.
• Maintain clean and organized job sites.
• Communicate clearly with direct reports regarding performance expectations and career development.
• Oversee and manage punch lists to ensure all tasks are resolved before project closeout.
• Meet with AHJs and third-party inspectors to facilitate inspections and approvals.
• Lead the field team to promote quality initiatives, setting expectations for quality inspections and observations.
