Job summary

Amgen is seeking a Senior Manager for Construction Contractor Safety to lead the safety program across capital projects. You will drive governance, training, and performance metrics while partnering with EHS, engineering, and external teams to manage complex safety risks.

The role emphasizes leveraging technology to improve safety outcomes, require strong leadership, and travel to project sites as needed. A robust background in pharma/biopharma safety is preferred.

Qualifications

• Doctorate in EHS, Occupational Safety, Engineering or related field.
• Master's degree with 6+ years EHS experience.
• Bachelor's degree with 8+ years EHS experience.
• Associate's degree with 10+ years EHS experience.
• High school diploma with 12+ years EHS experience.
• Minimum 2 years of people/leadership experience.
• Willingness to travel ~50% (regional/domestic/international).
• Experience managing construction safety in pharma/biopharma.

Responsibilities

• Lead development, implementation, and governance of the construction contractor safety program elements and training.
• Provide technical leadership across capital projects; ensure contractor compliance.
• Collaborate with project leaders, EHS, engineering and external companies to manage safety risks.
• Monitor safety performance; collect and interpret metrics across capital projects.
• Identify and implement technology solutions, including AI, to improve safety management.
• Coordinate contractor safety governance and training as applicable to the site/region.
