Job summary

Travelers is seeking an experienced Risk Control Consultant to provide expert assessment of hazards, controls and risk management for large and complex accounts. This role requires extensive on-site field work, collaboration with underwriting and brokers, and the ability to translate technical findings into actionable recommendations.

Ideal candidates will have seven years in safety/risk control, valid driver's license, and relevant certifications.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a strong field presence with substantial on-site work and travel.
• Partner with Underwriting to select and grow a profitable book of business.
• Build relationships with Underwriting, Claim, Risk Control Specialists, and Brokers.
• Conduct risk assessments for high-complexity Construction accounts and exposures.
• Write detailed reports communicating risk assessments and recommendations.
• Analyze losses to identify customer needs and provide Risk Control solutions.
• Identify uncontrolled exposures and advise corrective actions.
• Stay current with regulatory developments and emerging issues.
• Serve as Subject Matter Expert in specialty areas to support the team.
• Deliver high-quality client experiences and contribute to enterprise initiatives.
