Job summary

Construction Material Testing seeks a Quality Manager II to oversee the QA/QC program on large multi-phase projects, including heavy civil, industrial, and federal work. You will write and defend the QC plan, run three-phase meetings, and own the data for all test results and NCRs.

You will supervise QC inspectors and testing technicians, coordinate labs, certs, and material approvals across subcontractors, ensuring compliance with owner and agency requirements.

Qualifications

• 6+ years in construction quality control or special inspection.
• 2+ years supervising inspectors.
• USACE CQM-C certificate and ICC special inspector or NICET Level III.
• Experience on USACE, NAVFAC, DOT, or industrial owner quality programs.
• Writes clearly and holds the line in a room of superintendents and owner representatives.

Responsibilities

• Write and maintain the project quality control plan and get it accepted by the owner or agency.
• Lead preparatory, initial, and follow-up phase meetings for every definable feature of work.
• Supervise QC inspectors and testing technicians.
• Assign daily coverage and review their reports.
• Run the nonconformance and corrective-action process and present it in owner QA/QC meetings.
• Coordinate laboratory testing, mix design approvals, and material certifications across subcontractors.
