Job summary

Construction Material Testing leads the quality control program on large or multi-phase projects, including heavy civil, industrial, or federal work under USACE or NAVFAC. You manage field inspectors and technicians, write the project quality control plan, and report results to the owner's QA representative.

You will run three-phase control meetings, supervise inspectors, coordinate testing and certifications, and own the NCR process with corrective actions and retests.

Qualifications

• 6+ years in construction quality control or special inspection with 2+ years supervising inspectors.
• USACE CQM-C certificate with ICC special inspector or NICET Level III certification.
• Experience on USACE, NAVFAC, DOT or industrial owner quality programs.
• Clear written communication and ability to assert positions with superintendents.

Responsibilities

• Write and maintain the project quality control plan and get it accepted by the owner or agency.
• Lead preparatory, initial, and follow-up phase meetings for every definable feature of work.
• Supervise QC inspectors and testing technicians.
• Assign daily coverage and review their reports.
• Run the nonconformance and corrective-action process and present it in owner QA/QC meetings.
• Coordinate laboratory testing, mix design approvals, and material certifications across subcontractors.
