Job summary

Construction Material Testing seeks a Quality Manager II to lead the quality control program on large or multi-phase projects in heavy civil, industrial, or federal work for USACE or NAVFAC standards.

You will write the project QC plan, conduct three-phase control meetings, and take responsibility for every test result and nonconformance. Travel to active job sites may be required as projects are dispatched from Sugar Land and other sites.

Qualifications

• 6+ years in construction quality control or special inspection, including 2+ years supervising inspectors.
• USACE CQM-C certificate or ICC NICET Level III certification required.
• Experience on USACE, NAVFAC, DOT, or industrial owner quality programs.
• Writes clearly and communicates with owners and superintendents effectively.

Responsibilities

• Write and maintain the project quality control plan and get it accepted by the owner or agency.
• Lead preparatory, initial, and follow-up phase meetings for every definable feature of work.
• Supervise QC inspectors and testing technicians.
• Assign daily coverage and review their reports.
• Run nonconformance and corrective-action processes and present at owner QA/QC meetings.
• Coordinate laboratory testing, mix design approvals, and material certifications across subcontractors.

Education

USACE CQM-C certificate + ICC special inspector or NICET Level III certification
