Job summary

Southland Industries is seeking a Senior Purchasing Agent to manage procurement for active construction projects, coordinating with suppliers and internal teams to ensure on-time, cost-effective purchasing. You will oversee purchase orders, supplier coordination, and material tracking, using COINS ERP to maintain pricing and delivery schedules.

The role requires strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to balance multiple priorities in a fast-paced

Qualifications

• High school degree or G.E.D required.
• Minimum 5-7 years of experience in purchasing or customer service support.
• Understanding of purchasing practices and systems preferred.
• Mechanical construction experience preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

• On-site project purchasing and placing orders.
• Coordinate materials with vendors and monitor delivery dates.
• Maintain supplier pricing and vendor information in COINS ERP.
• Prepare RFQs/RFPs and review BOMs to identify purchasing requirements.
• Manage purchase orders from procurement through delivery and handle returns/credits.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities and negotiate pricing with vendors.
• Assist Project Managers with equipment purchases and support procurement issues.
