The NYC Department of Design and Construction, Borough Based Jails (BBJ) Division seeks a Senior Project Manager. The selected candidate will manage complex capital commitment projects; review proposed projects to determine how and when the work should be performed; work with Sponsor Agencies to ensure an understanding of project scope, oversee project from conception, through design development, to construction completion and project close-out. Reporting to the Program Executive, other key responsibilities include but are not limited to: developing deliverable dates to determine schedules that should be adhered to; supervise, coordinate, and direct project’s construction management and construction staff; appraise the Project Executive of any issues with scheduling, cost, and construction; and liaise among the BBJ Program Management Consultant (PMC), Design-Builders, regulatory entities/agencies having jurisdiction and DDC. Other duties include maintaining comprehensive project history files, help coordinating project schedules, addressing construction and design issues, reviewing change orders, and reviewing project correspondence and reports. In addition, the selected candidate will be responsible for utilizing the agency’s technical resources to ensure that the projects meet the Agency’s Commitment Plan objectives.
