Job summary

The Senior Project Manager role at Layton Construction leads large or complex projects, guiding project teams and ensuring performance aligned with contract documents and owner expectations. You may supervise other Project Managers and provide leadership for project delivery.

You will drive project planning, cost control, procurement, and schedule management, partnering with the Project Superintendent and stakeholders to deliver high quality, on-time results and strong client relationships.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in civil engineering, construction management, or related field.
• Minimum eight years of project management experience in mission-critical construction.
• Ability to lead teams, delegate, and drive organizational goals.
• Strong verbal and written communication, presentations, and documentation.
• Understanding of estimating concepts and change orders.
• Knowledge of contractual language, building codes, and design documents.
• Demonstrated integrity and ability to maintain ethics and policy standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead project teams, guide project management techniques, and ensure plan adherence.
• Directly responsible for projected costs and profits for each project.
• Assist in preparing estimates and negotiating prime contracts.
• Develop and lead the Project Management Plan (PMP).
• Participate in value engineering and pre-construction planning.
• Negotiate subcontracts and obtain permits; manage regulatory requirements.
• Prepare schedules, milestones, and monitor progress with the Project Superintendent.
• Coordinate final close-out, warranties, and project documentation.
