Job summary

Layton Construction in Dallas seeks a Senior Project Manager to lead large, complex projects and mentor project teams. You will be accountable for budgets, schedules, and ensuring compliance with contract documents and owner expectations.

You will guide project teams, coordinate with the superintendent, perform value engineering, and manage subcontractors from pre-construction through close-out to deliver successful outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, construction management or related field.
• Minimum of eight years project management experience in Mission Critical construction projects.
• Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects effectively.
• Proven teamwork and delegation skills to achieve goals.
• Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
• Understanding of estimating concepts, bids and change orders.
• Knowledge of contractual language and construction law.
• Strong integrity and adherence to ethical standards.

Responsibilities

• Supervises project teams and guides management techniques and adherence to plans.
• Owns projected costs and profits for each project.
• Assists in preparing estimates and project budgets.
• Leads negotiations for primes and subcontracts; handles permits and regulatory issues.
• Develops the Project Management Plan (PMP) with the team.
• Participates in value engineering and pre-construction planning.
• Oversees subcontracting, permits, and close-out procedures.
• Prepares project schedules and milestones with the Superintendent.
• Reviews documents for completeness and contract alignment.
• Ensures successful execution of the construction contract.
• Manages procurement, materials, and equipment within budget.
• Monitors safety, quality, and schedule with the team.
• Coordinates change orders and cost implications with stakeholders.
• Ensures final close-out, warranties, and project manuals are complete.
• Contributes to post-project reviews and future bid data.
