Job summary

Walbridge is seeking an experienced construction project leader in the United States to provide overall administrative and technical direction for one large project or several smaller ones. You will interface with client representatives, A/E teams, subcontractors, end users and security to ensure work aligns with design, budget, and schedule.

The role requires adherence to corporate policies and active management of planning, scheduling, and contract finances to protect the company’s interests

Qualifications

• 4 year construction management / engineering degree or equivalent professional training and experience.
• Extensive (minimum 10 years) experience and knowledge of commercial construction activities, design, finance, and management.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Business-oriented professional with ability to influence.
• Reporting to regional Vice President of Operations; decisions impact client relations and project profitability.

Responsibilities

• Oversee total construction effort to ensure project is constructed in accordance with design, budget and schedule; interface with client representatives, A/E representatives, subcontractors, end users, security, etc.
• Establish project objectives, policies, procedures and performance standards within corporate policy; plan, coordinate and supervise activities of all company personnel on assigned project(s).
• Monitor/control construction through administrative direction of on-site Superintendent to ensure on-schedule and within-budget progress; authorize/approve all purchase requisitions and change requests.
• Ensure all company, client, and project policies and procedures are adhered to; interpret policies as required.
• Maintain official project log and documentation files; assist with safety program implementation; provide direction to planning, scheduling, and engineering functions as required.
• Manage financial aspects of contracts to protect company’s interest while maintaining client relationships.
• Assume additional responsibilities as directed by regional management.
