We are partnering with a rapidly expanding general contractor specializing in large-scale data center and mission-critical construction to appoint a Senior Project Manager who will play a key role in delivering complex construction projects while supporting the continued development of the company's regional operations.
This is an opportunity for an experienced construction professional to join a growing business at a pivotal stage of its expansion, taking ownership of major data center developments while helping establish the teams, processes, and project delivery capabilities required to support long-term regional growth.
This is a highly construction-focused position rather than a purely operational or administrative management role.
The company is seeking an ambitious Senior Project Manager who combines strong technical construction expertise with the leadership and commercial capabilities required to manage complex projects and contribute to the growth of an expanding regional division.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the end-to-end delivery of large-scale data center construction projects, overseeing all phases from preconstruction and initial site development through construction, MEP integration, commissioning, and final handover.
- Play a key role in the development and expansion of the regional data center construction division, supporting the establishment of project teams, delivery processes, subcontractor relationships, and operational capabilities.
- Manage complex construction scopes across civil, structural, architectural, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) disciplines, ensuring successful coordination and integration throughout the project lifecycle.
- Oversee critical infrastructure installations, including electrical distribution, mechanical cooling systems, equipment integration, white-space fit-outs, and commissioning activities.
- Lead and coordinate project delivery teams, including Project Managers, Assistant Project Managers, Superintendents, Project Engineers, and subcontractors, ensuring projects are executed safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards.
- Maintain full accountability for project budgets, schedules, procurement, subcontractor performance, contract administration, change management, and overall project profitability.
- Work closely with senior leadership to support regional growth initiatives, identify opportunities to improve construction delivery, and establish scalable project management processes.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with data center owners, developers, consultants, subcontractors, and key project stakeholders, supporting client satisfaction and repeat business.
- Provide construction leadership during preconstruction, including constructability reviews, project planning, scheduling, procurement strategies, cost evaluations, and risk identification.
- Drive successful project execution by proactively resolving technical challenges, managing construction interfaces, coordinating MEP trades, and ensuring critical project milestones are achieved.
Experience & Requirements
- Extensive project management experience with a general contractor, including responsibility for delivering large-scale, technically complex construction projects.
- Proven data center construction experience is essential, ideally encompassing ground-up construction, MEP integration, critical infrastructure installations, commissioning, and white-space fit-outs.
- Previous experience as a Senior Project Manager or an experienced Project Manager responsible for significant construction projects and multidisciplinary delivery teams.
- Strong technical understanding of mechanical, electrical, and critical infrastructure systems within data center environments, alongside broader general contracting expertise.
- Demonstrated experience managing construction projects from preconstruction through completion, including financial oversight, scheduling, subcontractor management, and client coordination.
- Ability to manage multiple construction disciplines and coordinate complex MEP installations within demanding project schedules.
- Experience mentoring and developing junior project management personnel, supporting team growth, and improving project delivery processes.
- Strong commercial acumen, including budgeting, forecasting, contract administration, change order management, procurement, and risk mitigation.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to manage client relationships, coordinate project stakeholders, and operate with a high degree of autonomy.
- Ambition to contribute to the development of a growing regional construction business while remaining directly involved in project execution.
