Job summary

Walbridge is seeking a Project Manager for Construction to provide comprehensive administrative and technical direction on a large, complex project. You will interface with clients, manage scoping, scheduling, procurement, and safety oversight, and monitor costs and progress to ensure successful delivery.

Ideal candidates will have a 4-year degree in construction mgmt or engineering and 10+ years of commercial construction experience, with strong leadership, planning and communication skills.

Qualifications

• 4 year construction management / engineering degree or equivalent professional training and experience.
• Extensive (minimum 10 years) experience and knowledge of commercial construction activities, design, finance, and management required.
• Must be able to apply innovative and effective management techniques to maximize employee performance.
• Thorough understanding of corporate and industry practices, processes, standards, etc. and their impact on project activities is vital; superior communication and interpersonal (tact, diplomacy, influence, etc.) skills essential.

Responsibilities

• Oversee total construction effort to ensure project is constructed in accordance with design, budget and schedule.
• Establish project objectives, policies, procedures and performance standards within corporate policy.
• Monitor/control construction through administrative direction of on‑site Superintendent to ensure on-schedule and within-budget delivery; authorize change requests.
• Ensure all company, client, and project policies, procedures, standards are adhered to.
• Maintain official project log and documentation; assist with safety program implementation.
• Manage financial aspects of contracts to protect company interests and sustain client relations.
• Assume additional responsibilities as directed by regional management.
