Job summary

Placements24 seeks an experienced Senior Project Manager (Construction) to oversee large-scale civil projects in Welkom, Free State. Lead teams, coordinate subcontractors, and ensure on-time, on-budget delivery with a focus on safety and quality.

The role requires a Civil Eng or Construction Mgmt degree, 10+ years PM experience, and proficiency in MS Project or Primavera. Strong leadership and communication skills are essential; Pr.CPM certification is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
• Minimum 10 years in construction project management on large-scale projects.
• Proven track record of managing budgets and schedules for complex construction projects.
• In-depth knowledge of construction methodologies, building codes, and safety regulations.
• Proficiency in project management software (MS Project, Primavera).
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical documents.
• Experience in Welkom, Free State region is highly desirable.
• Professional certifications such as Pr.CPM or similar are an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Manage all aspects of construction projects from conception to completion.
• Develop detailed project plans, including scope, timelines, budgets, and resource allocation.
• Oversee project teams, including engineers, site supervisors, and subcontractors.
• Ensure adherence to project specifications, quality standards, and safety regulations.
• Monitor project progress, identify potential risks, and implement mitigation strategies.
• Manage project finances, including budget tracking, cost control, and invoicing.
• Facilitate effective communication among all project stakeholders, including clients, consultants, and regulatory bodies.
• Procure necessary materials and manage vendor relationships.
• Conduct regular site inspections and progress meetings.
• Ensure successful project closeout, including documentation and handover.
