Job summary

Mortenson Construction is seeking a Senior Project Manager I to lead one large project or multiple projects, ensuring quality, schedule, safety, and client satisfaction. The role includes mentoring the project team and maintaining strong owner relationships on-site.

You will manage budgets, schedules, change orders, and subcontractor performance while coordinating with accounting and field staff. A Bachelor’s degree and 8+ years’ experience are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction, Civil, Architectural Engineering, or Construction Management, or equivalent.
• Minimum eight years of construction management or related experience.
• Ability to manage multiple large, complex projects.
• Strong listening and communication skills.
• Knowledge of construction law and general business practices.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, project management software, and related web apps.
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel up to 100%.

Responsibilities

• Oversee overall financial health of projects.
• Develop and maintain project financials and equipment projections.
• Allocate estimates in the financial system, set cost codes, approve invoices.
• Provide financials and billings to accounting; prepare monthly owner billings.
• Manage subcontracts, suppliers, budget, and selections.
• Lead Assistant PMs and Project Engineers; assign tasks and train.
• Serve as main owner/site liaison.
• Resolve site concerns, manage change orders, obtain approvals.
• Maintain schedule, budget, quality, risk, safety, and compliance.
