Job summary

Mortenson Construction seeks an experienced Senior Project Manager I to lead one large project or multiple projects, ensuring quality, on-time delivery, safety, and strong client relations. You will mentor the project team and communicate with stakeholders at all levels in a dynamic environment.

The role requires strategic budgeting, schedule control, and strong collaboration with owners, subcontractors, and internal teams. Travel up to 100% may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction, Civil, Architectural Engineering, or Construction Management or equivalent experience.
• Minimum eight years of construction management or related experience.
• Ability to oversee multiple, large complex projects.
• Active listening and effective communication with diverse input.
• Basic understanding of construction law and standard business practices.
• MS Office, project, and web app skills at an intermediate level.
• Positive professional attitude with strong customer service.
• Ability to interpret and communicate Mortenson policies.
• Current driver’s license and ability to travel up to 100%.

Responsibilities

• Supervise overall financial health of projects.
• Develop and maintain project financial and equipment projections.
• Allocate estimates into financial system, determine cost codes, approve invoices.
• Provide financials and billings to Accounting, create monthly owner billings.
• Handle subcontracts and suppliers, manage budget and selections.
• Lead Assistant Project Managers and Project Engineers, provide training.
• Function as main contact with owner and on-site representative.
• Resolve site concerns, manage change orders and approvals.
• Maintain schedule and budget, manage quality, risk, safety, and compliance.
