Job summary

Mortenson is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager I to provide leadership on one large project or multiple projects, overseeing quality, schedule, safety, and mentoring the project team. Strong communication and integrity are essential.

You will interact with staff at all levels, manage budgets and subcontracts, lead junior staff, and serve as main owner and on-site contact, with travel up to 100%.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction, Civil, or Architectural Engineering or Construction Management.
• Minimum eight years of construction management or project management experience.
• Ability to manage multiple, large complex projects.
• Active listening and effective communication skills.
• Ability to travel up to 100%.

Responsibilities

• Supervise overall financial health of projects.
• Develop and maintain project financial and equipment projections.
• Allocate project estimates into the financial system, determine cost codes, approve invoices.
• Provide financials and billings to Accounting, create monthly owner billings.
• Handle subcontracts and suppliers, manage budget and selections.
• Lead Assistant Project Managers and Project Engineers, provide job assignments and training.
• Function as main point of contact with owner and on-site representative.
• Resolve site concerns, handle change orders, and obtain necessary approvals.
• Maintain schedule and budget, manage quality, risk, safety, and compliance.
