Job summary

CannonDesign is seeking a Senior Construction Administrator to lead and develop the project team, administering construction contracts and driving risk mitigation and cost control from start to finish on large projects in Rochester, Minnesota.

You will coordinate with the Project Director, PMs, and consultants, attend site meetings, review documentation, and ensure adherence to design intent, codes, and firm policies, with relocation support for on-site presence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction or related field preferred.
• 12+ years of relevant experience in construction administration, with at least 5 years in institutional or commercial projects.
• Healthcare and Education project experience strongly preferred.
• Registration or Licensure preferred.
• LEED accreditation preferred.
• Knowledge of building codes and requirements.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Technical knowledge, coordination skills, and ability to build rapport with the project team.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office and Bluebeam is required.
• Familiarity with the operation of Procore is required.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the project team for Construction Administration on large projects.
• Identify and mitigate risks; maintain the project risk assessment process.
• Coordinate with the Project Director and Managers to assign CA resources.
• Attend site meetings and review contractor minutes.
• Review drawings and change proposals; manage RFIs and submittals.
• Ensure progress tracking, cost management, and certifications of substantial completion.
• Support knowledge capture and process improvements within the firm.
