Job summary

CannonDesign in Rochester, Minnesota seeks a seasoned Construction Administration leader to oversee on-site and remote CA activities for large projects. You will drive risk reviews, coordinate teams, review documents, and manage cost control from start to finish.

Requirements include a 12+ year background in CA, architecture/engineering background, and strong communication. Relocation support is available; healthcare/education project exposure is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction or related field preferred.
• Minimum of 12 years relevant experience in construction administration.
• Healthcare and Education project experiences strongly preferred.
• Registration or Licensure preferred.
• LEED accreditation preferred.
• Knowledge of building codes and requirements.
• Must have strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Technical knowledge, coordination skills and the ability to build rapport with the project team is essential.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office and Bluebeam is required.
• Familiarity with the operation of construction management software Procore is required.

Responsibilities

• Be the prime liaison between builder, client/owner, and design teams.
• Lead and contribute to risk assessment during Construction Administration; mitigate issues.
• Assign team members to scopes under the Project Director and PMs.
• Manage CA team on site and remotely; coordinate with CA Coordinators, Document Control, and Quality Leaders.
• Guide CA policies; meet with Senior Project Architect(s) and Discipline Leaders on quality.
• Attend site meetings; review minutes and cost management activities.
• Prepare site visits and related reports as contractually obligated.
• Lead review of construction documents and coordination with consultants.
• Resolve problems on site; propose changes to contract documents.
• Track document changes and cost-tracking logs with reason codes.
• Identify key risk issues and involve senior leadership as needed.
• Lead processing of RFIs and Submittals.
• Review and approve change proposals from the builder.
• Review progress and authorize payments; advise on project completion.
• Participate in hiring CA team for the project.
• Capture institutional knowledge and process improvements.
• Lead monthly CA performance metrics reporting.
• Prepare Certification of Substantial Completion for authorization.
