Job summary

Balfour Beatty US is seeking a Senior Project Engineer to assist the Project Manager with planning and daily execution of construction projects. You will help maintain the project schedule, manage submittal approvals, coordinate timely material deliveries, and oversee subcontractor compliance with contract documents.

This role involves budget oversight, early risk awareness, and collaboration with the Superintendent, Architect/Engineer, and owner representatives.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field with 2–4 years of experience preferred, or 5–6 years of progressive construction related trade experience.
• Demonstrates leadership skills with ability to face challenges, direct others, and resolve conflicts.
• Creates, manages, and revises schedules and related assignments based on project priorities.
• Organizes people, tools, and equipment and plans multiple activities to achieve results.
• Makes decisions under tight deadlines with incomplete information.
• Exhibits commitment to quality by evaluating processes and seeking improvements.

Responsibilities

• Assists Project Manager with planning and daily execution of construction projects.
• Manages submittal logs and coordinates submittals and coordination drawings with subcontractors and the Superintendent.
• Reviews project budgets, expenses, and billing with focus on keeping schedules and costs on track.
• Conducts preconstruction meetings and ensures documentation for each subcontractor, including safety and quality controls.
• Acts as onsite quality manager to verify deliveries meet submittal requirements and coordinates with Architect/Engineer and owner reps.
