Job summary

Rudolph & Sletten, a Tutor Perini Company, is seeking a Senior Project Engineer to join our San Diego, CA office. The primary role is to assist the Project Manager and Superintendent in organizing, scheduling, and recording construction activities on large commercial projects, ensuring specs are met and coordinating with subcontractors and design teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Construction Management is required.
• Minimum five years of experience in the field or related area.
• Working knowledge of surveying techniques and equipment, and standards.
• Experience with large commercial projects; healthcare, education, corporate campuses, justice, science & technology desired.
• Proficiency with MS Office Suite, Excel, ODBC, data mining familiarity, and Bluebeam.
• Experience with Procore or similar construction software; blueprint reading proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Project Manager and Superintendent in organizing, controlling, scheduling, monitoring, and recording construction activities.
• Lead coordination meetings with subcontractors and design teams; document information reviewed.
• Inspect site daily and manage subcontractors to contract documents.
• Review submittals, shop drawings, RFIs, and change orders; coordinate design and construction efforts.
• Develop project metrics, maintain logs, and support close-out activities.
• Ensure contract specifications are adhered to and maintain communication with owners and A/E representatives.
