Job summary

Turner in Toledo, OH is seeking an experienced Project Accounting Leader to manage day-to-day accounting operations for construction projects. You will guide project teams to ensure GAAP compliance, maintain controls, and deliver transparent financial health reporting.

You will mentor staff, oversee AP/AR activities, audit support, and precise cost reporting while coordinating with finance and project teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance is required.
• Minimum 3 years of related experience.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and accounting policies.
• Experience with AP/AR processes and vendor/customer accounts.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Serve as primary point of contact for project Finance accounting questions.
• Mentor accounting team on policies and workflows.
• Provide timely documentation for audits and requests.
• Collaborate with Shared Services on AR/AP activities.
• Lead month-end close for projects and ensure proper expense recognition.
• Manage project cash position, billing reviews, and profitability.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and contract terms across projects.
• Monitor WIP schedules and percent completion; report variances to leadership.
