Job summary

Turner Construction Company is seeking an experienced project accounting lead to manage day-to-day accounting operations for multiple construction projects. You will generate financial reports, ensure GAAP compliance, and communicate project financial health to Finance and project teams.

You will mentor the accounting staff, lead month-end close, and collaborate with SSO on AR/AP activities, while identifying process improvements and implementing Turner policies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree from an accredited program in Accounting, Finance, or related field with minimum of 3 years of related experience.
• Advanced knowledge of Accounting policies, procedures, and GAAP.
• Understanding of contract terms and construction billing requirements.
• Ability to educate others and reinforce compliance with company financial practices.

Responsibilities

• Perform, manage, and lead day-to-day accounting operations and generate financial reporting for construction projects.
• Mentor Accounting team on Turner financial policies and system workflows.
• Provide training and support to accounting staff using established materials.
• Lead month-end close activities for assigned projects and ensure timely expense recognition.
• Collaborate with SSO on Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable activities.
• Monitor WIP schedules and percent of completion for projects and analyze variances.
• Audit client billing and project ledger for GAAP and contract compliance.
• Manage project cash position and coordinate with client finance teams and vendors.
• Lead implementation of finance procedures to ensure client contract compliance.
