The City of New York’s Department of Design and Construction, Public Buildings Division, is seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead complex capital projects from inception through close-out. You will coordinate with Sponsor Agencies, guide project teams, and ensure on-time, on-budget delivery.

Responsibilities include cost estimation, scheduling, change orders, safety, reporting, and stakeholder coordination.

Formación

• Five years of full-time experience managing and/or inspecting construction projects totaling at least $300,000 per project
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, architecture, construction management, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience
• One year of experience as described above and a baccalaureate degree from an accredited college/university in engineering, architecture, construction management, or related field
• One year of experience as described above and a valid professional engineer, architect, or landscape architect license in the United States
• Two additional years of qualifying experience for higher levels and a valid New York driver license may apply per assignment requirements

Responsabilidades

• Manage complex capital commitment projects from inception to close-out.
• Review proposed projects to determine scope, sequencing, and feasibility.
• Coordinate with Sponsor Agencies from project inception to ensure alignment of scope and vision.
• Generate cost estimates to determine bid prices and budgets.
• Develop deliverable dates and schedules to finish projects on time and within budget.
• Supervise design, construction management, and field staff; resolve design or construction issues.
• Negotiate with contractors and vendors; review change orders and project estimates.
• Ensure safety compliance, track progress, and generate reports for stakeholders.
• Attend meetings; monitor contractor performance; guide Project Managers and Junior Project Managers.
