Job summary

ECS Group of Companies is seeking an experienced Construction Materials Testing (CMT) Principal Engineer to join our Lawrenceville field services team. You will oversee CMT projects, ensure quality and performance, review reports, and mentor staff while driving business development and client relations.

Responsibilities include leading technical reviews, mentoring junior managers, and coordinating with clients to meet deadlines from proposal to final review.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering and Management, Materials Science Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or Geology.
• 12+ years of relevant experience including drafting, reviewing, and approving technical reports.
• Professional licensure as a Professional Engineer (PE) or Professional Geologist (PG).
• Senior reviewer designation in current or previous firm.
• Maintain licenses and certifications per local, state, and federal laws.
• Strong leadership, safety, and professionalism.
• Proven track record in project management, consulting, and business development.
• Expert knowledge of CMT principles, applications, and ASTM laboratory standards.
• Valid driver's license and insurance for ECS travel.
• Strong marketing skills and client relationship experience in local market.
• Excellent communication and decision-making skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee various CMT projects, review technical report reviews, prepare and review proposals, and assist with management of your department and P&L.
• Provide technical expertise by reviewing reports and mentoring CMT staff through training and development.
• Mentor junior project managers and collaborate with managers and recruiters on staffing needs.
• Attend project meetings with clients and provide technical resolutions of issues as requested.
• Market ECS services through networking and maintain client relationships.
