Job summary

ECS Group of Companies in Greensboro seeks an experienced Construction Materials Testing (CMT) Associate Principal to lead technical oversight, final review, and mentorship across project teams. You will support business development and ensure high-quality deliverables in a dynamic field services environment.

As a senior technical leader, you will maintain compliance with CMT principles and ASTM standards, review complex reports, and guide staff through multi-project oversight.

Qualifications

• 8 years of related experience with a professional engineering or geology license or 12 years with applicable certifications
• Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering and Management, Materials Science Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or Geology preferred
• Maintain necessary licenses/certifications per ECS policies
• Established expertise in CMT principles, ASTM standards
• Strong regional market knowledge and client relationships
• Leadership, multi-project oversight, and mentorship capabilities
• Excellent communication and consulting skills
• Ability to perform final technical reviews and validate deliverables

Responsibilities

• Provide technical oversight for geotechnical projects across the organization
• Perform final technical review of reports, calculations, and deliverables prior to approval
• Ensure quality, accuracy, and timeliness of project deliverables
• Oversee project performance and support issue resolution at a strategic level
• Mentor and develop Senior Project Managers and staff
• Support preparation and review of proposals and contracts
• Lead technical discussions with clients and project teams
• Support departmental operations and financial performance
• Assist with staffing decisions and team development
• Contribute to business development and client relationship growth
• Provide cross-functional technical support across adjacent service lines
• Perform other leadership and technical responsibilities as assigned
