Job summary

ECS Group of Companies is seeking a senior CMT Project Engineer in the Greensboro area to lead and oversee construction materials testing projects from proposal through final delivery. This role is responsible for technical quality, client satisfaction, financial performance, and team execution across multiple projects.

Candidates should have 5 years of related experience, a B.S. in Civil Engineering, and a PE license.

Qualifications

• 5 years of related experience.
• B.S. in Civil Engineering or related field.
• PE license required in applicable jurisdictions.
• Valid driver’s license if driving for ECS subsidiaries.
• Excellent communication skills (verbal & written).
• Strong project management and business development skills.
• Extensive knowledge of construction materials testing principles and ASTM standards.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and mentor staff.

Responsibilities

• Leads and manages construction materials testing projects from proposal through completion.
• Ensures all tasks are completed accurately and on time from proposal to invoicing.
• Oversees daily report review and resolves technical/administrative issues.
• Manages budgets, invoicing, pay apps, and collections.
• Prepares and reviews proposals and change orders.
• Serves as primary client contact and stakeholder liaison.
• Hosts and participates in project meetings to present findings.
• Provides technical oversight for testing activities and deliverables.
• Mentors junior staff, technicians, and project managers.
• Supports staffing decisions and resource allocation across projects.
• Markets services and grows client relationships.
• Performs other project management and leadership duties as assigned.
