Job summary

Actalent is seeking a Construction Manager to oversee multiple $10 million+ projects nationwide from a fully remote work setup with about 20% travel to project sites and partner locations across the United States. You will lead preconstruction, coordinate design and schedule, manage budgets, and ensure compliance with standards and policies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or a comparable field.
• At least 7 years of experience in Architecture, Engineering, or Construction Management.
• At least 7 years of project management experience from design through operation.
• At least 7 years negotiating construction, procurement, and labor contracts.
• Experience with AutoCAD and BIM tools.
• Proficiency with scheduling software (Primavera, MS Project).

Responsibilities

• Lead preconstruction management for retrofit, expansion, and industrial building projects from concept to handoff.
• Document site specifics from site selection and transaction management.
• Coordinate architectural/engineering specs for each building type; include surveys and site visits.
• Manage transportation, internal requirements, and site standards coordination.
• Oversee permit submittals and initial architectural design efforts.
• Develop documents for lease execution: site plans, work letters, schedules, phasing.
• Create construction schedules and sequencing; define phasing as needed.
• Prepare construction cost estimates for capital requests and budgeting.
• Conduct due diligence for utilities and coordination pre-handoff.
• Provide complete documentation for handoff; upload to Procore and repositories.
• Maintain repository of preconstruction work products by site.
• Set deadlines, assign responsibilities, monitor progress, summarize for leadership.
• Ensure compliance with design criteria and spending/transaction policies.
• Prepare concise status reports for upper management.
• Lead and direct project teams and external partners.
• Resolve design/construction challenges with creativity and judgment.
• Support program management across concurrent projects.
